Counseling Services
The student counselor's office provides counseling for all students. Counseling helps the student, the parents and the school gain understanding and insight into what is troubling the student and/or getting in the way of fulfilling their personal and academic potential
Mrs. Rasha provides counseling sessions* to tackle common issues faced by students, these include: bullying, parental separation, stress, friendships, bereavement, distressing traumatic events and anger. Furthermore, she deals with students who have social, educational, physical, behavioural or family problems. She does this through conducting individual, group or peer counseling, classroom counseling and parents’ meetings
The counselor’s responsibilities and duties are to improve parent/teacher relationships, refer parents to facilities to assist students suspected to have learning disabilities or mental health issues , arrange and present workshops to faculty regarding best practices in dealing with students, as well as supporting the Life Skills programs
A key feature of the service is that information discussed in the counseling sessions are treated confidentially respecting the student’s privacy and autonomy. Even though the counselor is required to keep a formal record of all counseling sessions, all reports and records will be kept in a secure locked cabinet in the counselor's office on premises
